Futaba 14MZ Tips

- If you are coping models you must first "select" the model you want to copy.

- If you are using a 1024 RX use the NEW channel assignments that are default in the 14mz. This will provide much better results due to the grouping of related servos.

- In the player screen you can assign one of the knobs for volume control. This will change the audible volume for all sounds that come from the radio including music.

I made two simple helicopter programs they are “fresh start” programs for a 3D setup and are basically the same as many of us have used in the 9Z for years. Just copy the two .mdl files into your CF cards “Models” directory.

For the most part one can just set ATV’s, REVERSE SERVOS, GYRO GAIN and check the Governor settings...and go fly. I would recommend leaving the original program on the CF card and copying to transmitter before making changes. Don’t forget to rename the new model

 Models:

JK Mccpm V1a” - for single servo collective (mechanical mixing)
JK Eccpm V1a” - for 120° CCPM (electronic mixing)

 Both program details:

- All ATV and AFR are 100%
- Modes: NORM, IDLE 1, IDLE 2 and HOLD modes are set on the normal switch positions. HOLD has the highest priority.
- Trims: All TRIMS are “0” and combined for all modes with the exception of the throttle which is separate in NORM and HOLD. The rudder trims are completely NULL. (trim not generally used is AVC mode with Futaba gyros)
- Sub Trims are “0”
- Pitch curves: Linear 0-100% all modes
- Throttle Curves: NORM is Expo curve. IDLE 1 & 2 have a VTR “V” curve already set
- Gyro Gain: Channel 3, Is set at AVC 37% in both positions on Switch F
- Governor: RPM is Channel 7 controlled by Idle up switch E, NORM =0%, IDLE1 = 50%, IDLE 2 = 100%
- Governor ON OFF is channel 8 controlled by Switch B
- Expo is set to -30% for cyclic an -20% for the tail
- AIL & ELV to Throttle mixing are ON in IDLE 1 & 2 only. Idle 1 = 40%, Idle 3 = 65%
- ALL knobs and sliders are NULL.
- Throttle CUT is Switch H, works at any stick position
- Timer counts UP to 10:00 and is activated by the throttle stick
--------------------------------
Switch settings:

SA = NULL
SB = Governor ON OFF Channel 8
SC = NULL
SD = NULL
SE  = Idle ups and Governor rpm Channel 7
SF = Gyro Gain, AVC 37% both positions. Channel 3
SG = Throttle Hold (Hold Mode)
SH = Throttle Cut

ALL Knobs and Sliders = NULL

Hope this helps some of you. Please let me know if you find any issues that should be addressed or updated.
